Nancy and her friend Rosanne have lived in San Francisco for several years not far from Bernal Heights Park where I met them.

Twice a week, they enjoy the scenery of the city, pointing out places they know, and walking Nancy’s dog Kai who is three years old. Unfortunately he is blind, and when he encounters another dog, his fears are difficult to overcome.

In the winter, when the sun is low in the sky, the height of the hill gives them access to the sunlight that provides them an extra amount of vitamin D and happiness.
